Bushmen Thermo-Tarp Shelter Fabric 4 x 3 m, Olive Green / Silver. Size 4 x 3 m, equipped with 19 attachment loops and an inner surface made from heat-reflective material (“silvered”). An excellent choice if you want to blend in and appreciate the thermal reflection properties of your tarp. This shelter fabric is constructed from durable breathable ripstop polyester that withstands wind and rain while protecting against sunlight. The inner surface of the tarp is made from reflective material that reflects heat inward.


Material Characteristics

Lightweight, waterproof, and breathable ripstop polyester with a camo-patterned exterior. The silver interior is heat and light reflective. On hot days, the silver surface deflects sunlight, reducing the temperature beneath the tarp. In cold weather, it reflects your body heat back.

Seams and Taping

The edges are reinforced with a triple stitch, highly visible when observing the tarp's edge. Additionally, a reinforcement tape secures the reflective side of the tarp where it is sewn with a triple seam.

The ridge line is reinforced with a reinforcement strip, and the ridge seam is taped for waterproofing.

Applications:

Over a Hammock
A 3 x 4 m tarp over a hammock allows for the formation of doors on either end. A 3 x 4 m tarp is also ideal for longer hammocks over 3 m.

As Canopies and Shelters
Compared to a standard 3 x 3 m tarp, an extra meter offers significantly more interior space. For example, an A-frame setup with a 4 x 3 m tarp has a peak height of 1.7 m, while a 3 x 3 m folded tarp only reaches 1.1 m.

With a 4 x 3 m Thermo-Tarp, you can create various tent-like shelters and set fires out front. The heat from the fire reflects back into the shelter, a feature not found in standard tarps. Note that the material is not fire retardant; sparks may burn holes in the tarp.

We do not recommend camping tarps for long-term use. UV light degrades materials and shortens their lifespan. If any tarp is to be recommended for rain or sun protection on your home patio, it must certainly be Bushmen's Thermo-Tarp.

Storage Bag

The tarp is supplied in a handled storage bag, which also has a small handle at the bottom to aid in extracting the tarp. The handles of the storage bag can assist when securing the tarp on the outside of your backpack. When folded neatly, it only occupies around 30 cm x 16 cm of space.

Attachment Loops

The loops at the corners are formed from the edging webbing, where excess webbing is left looped at the corners. These loops are user-friendly even in poor weather and distribute applied forces more evenly. The corners of the tarp have also been reinforced for enhanced durability.

There are attachment loops along the sides fixed to the edge webbing.
