Care Plus Tick-Out Ticks-2-Go Tick Remover. A tick remover is essential when you are outdoors or in natural areas. Ticks have spread into Northern Finland and can transmit harmful diseases such as Lyme disease. This tick remover is a handy tool for safely detaching ticks from your skin.
Ticks attach to you faster than you might realize. Regularly check yourself and your companions, especially children, for ticks. Pay special attention to warm and moist areas, such as knees, groins, armpits, and hairlines, as ticks can be very small and easily overlooked. Make it a habit to check for ticks regularly during the tick season from April to October. For instance, check for ticks after brushing your teeth. The best way to remove a tick is with a tick remover. Since ticks attach to your skin with tiny hooks, they can be difficult to remove. Using fingernails or tweezers is unsafe and comes with the risk of leaving behind parts of the tick in your skin. Using the right tools makes it significantly safer to remove the tick intact.
Tick Bite
Found an attached tick? Easily remove it whole with a tick fork or tweezers. Always have tick-removing tools handy to remove it as quickly as possible, reducing the risk of infection. Never attempt to remove a tick with your hands, fingernails, fire, or alcohol. This poses the risk of leaving parts of the tick in your skin or causing the tick to release saliva into your bloodstream, which increases the risk of infection.
Instructions for Use: Position the tick remover as close to the skin as possible so that the back end of the tick goes into the gap at the base of the remover; gently turn the top downwards, lifting the hook upward to pull the tick out. It is important to remove the tick with tweezers as soon as possible, preferably within 8 hours of the bite. Disinfect the tick bite with alcohol. If you remove the tick within 8 hours of the bite, the risk of Lyme disease infection is significantly lower.
