The Source WLPS boasts a wide opening that allows complete access from the top. The mouthpiece is angled at 90 degrees for easier tubing management. The drinking tube is sheathed in an extremely abrasion-resistant cover that protects the water from outside temperatures and UV rays.

The mouthpiece is of the Storm design, allowing for easy pull-open access and can be swapped with the squeezable Helix model for added convenience. It's easy to disassemble, clean, and maintain. The Storm mouthpiece operates by pulling/pushing for quick access. Opening with your mouth is simple.
Advantages over bite valves include higher flow rate, better performance in freezing temperatures, and leak-resistance under pressure.

The interior of the bladder is made from a specially smooth film material that rivals glass in smoothness. This smooth surface is vital since any biofilm that may grow requires a rough texture to adhere. A smooth interior prevents biofilm formation and makes the bladder self-cleaning as replacing clean water flushes out all impurities.
It also features a Grunge-Guard treatment that functions as a repellent at a molecular level against bacteria. Due to these qualities, Source does not offer cleaning tablets or specialized maintenance tools; all necessary upkeep can be performed without special instruments, except for the hose, which requires a tube brush.
