Hoppe's BoreSnake cleaning rope for .308-.30 long firearms. An excellent tool for quick barrel cleaning. Convenient for field use or at the range, and highly recommended for military personnel. It is used by dropping the weight through the barrel from the chamber end, and as it exits the muzzle, the rope is pulled. You can assist pulling by attaching the cap of the package to the weight, which acts as a pull handle. The snake takes care of all cleaning steps - the metal brush removes residue, and the woven fabric section eliminates it. Extremely handy! When you're done, just roll up the snake and store it in its case with the handle as the lid. While others are still rolling their swabs, your weapon will already be clean and ready for storage, needing only some oil.
Make sure to run it from the chamber side towards the muzzle end to avoid damage that could impair accuracy. There is a tapered transition between the chamber and the rifled part of the barrel, so no issues there.
