Hoppe's BoreSnake Cleaning Rope 9.3 mm / .35 - .375 for long firearms. An ingenious tool that makes barrel cleaning quick and easy. Perfect for use in the field or at the range, and highly recommended for servicemen. This product is used by dropping the weight from the chamber through the barrel, and as it comes out the muzzle, you pull on the rope. You can assist pulling by attaching the cap of the pack to the weight, as it also acts as a handle. The snake takes care of all cleaning stages - the metal brush removes carbon residue, and the braided fabric snake wipes it clean. Incredibly handy. When you're done, you can roll the snake up and store it back in its box with the cap serving as a handle. While others are still rolling out the cleaning rod, your weapon is already clean and ready for oiling before storage.

And from the chamber towards the barrel to avoid the muzzle from widening, which can compromise accuracy. There is a transition cone between the chamber and the rifled part of the barrel, so there is no issue on that end.
