Tasmanian Tiger Chest Rig MKII IRR is a modern upgrade of the legendary Rhodesian Recon Vest chest rig.

If you're looking for a versatile carry platform without the hassle of dozens of individual pouches for your setup, we've got just the chest rig that ticks all those boxes and more!

The Chest Rig MKII features four flap-covered magazine pockets upfront that neatly accommodate AR/AK/RK-style magazines. The flaps can also be easily detached and replaced with the manufacturer's cord-adjustment set (BEL SET 7636), allowing open-top access. On the sides, there are generous-sized, zippered general-purpose pockets secured with elastic bands to keep items stable while on the move.

A MOLLE panel rises from the front, perfect for attaching admin pouches. If you prefer not to use the flap, it can be tucked away into its own pocket. More MOLLE webbing is available in front of the magazine and general-purpose pockets. There’s also a small strip of Velcro on one of the MOLLE rows for a name tag.

At the abdomen, the rig features padding and mesh fabric to prevent overheating during extended use.

The shoulder straps are H-shaped, and the elastic connector at the back ensures that the straps adapt to the user’s shape, fitting snugly but not constrictively. The waist strap and shoulder straps are secured with robust buckles that are conveniently manageable even while wearing gloves.

The rig has a front plate pocket for a SAPI plate when the flap is deployed, and it can be converted into a full plate carrier with the manufacturer's Trooper Back Plate IRR (7070) accessory. The Trooper Back Plate can also double as a hydration bladder pocket when used with the rig.

Note! Due to its feature-rich design, this chest rig is relatively large, so unfortunately, it may not fit the smallest users! However, the manufacturer states that users with a waist size of 82cm shouldn’t face any issues!

Constructed from 700D Cordura, well-known from other Tasmanian Tiger products, this material achieves better durability compared to the more familiar 500D Cordura but remains lighter than the heavier 1000D.

Tasmanian Tiger IRR products meet German Army standards for night vision protection. Unlike many manufacturers, Tasmanian Tiger ensured that not only the fabric but also elastic bands, Velcro, buckles, and other components are treated.

The color of the IRR products is Stone Grey Olive, closely resembling the popular Ranger Green.
