Wool is a warm and breathable material. Sheep's wool possesses excellent usage properties, as it breathes well and provides effective insulation against heat. Renewable and biodegradable natural fiber, it absorbs moisture well, resists wrinkling, and recovers quickly. Sometimes airing out wool products is enough instead of washing. Wool is naturally flame-resistant and withstands bacteria and mold well.
Sheep’s wool is the oldest textile fiber derived from animals. There are about 200 different breeds of sheep producing wool. Only eco-friendly and responsibly sourced Nativa™ certified merino wool is used for sock making. Merino sheep produce only undercoat wool; it is finer and softer than regular sheep’s wool. All merino wool socks are also mulesing-free.
When choosing the size of merino wool socks, note that 3-5% shrinkage allowance has been knitted into the socks. It’s good to wash them before the first use to ensure they fit properly. Models with a merino wool terry sole may also fit slightly wider than usual sizes. For terry sole models, the suitable size could be one size smaller than normal.
