DD Hammock Underblanket XL, 2.3 X 1.2 m, Green. The Extra Long Underblanket is designed for taller individuals and larger hammocks or to cover a greater area beneath the hammock.
The DD Underblanket is now available in a longer size, compatible with larger hammocks. The longer model is also a great choice if you want the underblanket to cover a bigger area beneath your hammock. The DD Underblanket is suitable for use down to -5°C. Please note that survivability at specific temperatures is always individual. The sleeping bag must also be adequately cold-resistant.
How does the long underblanket work?
When you lie in a hammock, your body weight compresses your clothing and sleeping bag against the hammock, causing their thermal insulation to diminish. The underblanket with air pockets creates an insulating layer that you warm with your own body heat.
In hammock camping, cold often comes from beneath, so the underblanket plays an even more critical role than the sleeping bag or top quilt. The DD Underblanket XL is set to hang loosely beneath the hammock. The underblanket is designed to “hug” the hammock lightly. The underblanket should not be installed too tightly or too close to the hammock.
