British Basha Shelter Sheet, MTP, surplus. The authentic British Army Shelter Sheet, known as the legendary Basha tarp, is one of the most versatile protective fabrics for field conditions. Renowned for its exceptional durability, lightweight nature, and practicality, this MOD surplus fabric has achieved cult status – and rightly so. These are rarely available.
This tarp, made from high-quality polyurethane-coated nylon, performs excellently on hikes, bushcraft excursions, hunting, preparedness scenarios, and as a minimalist shelter. The thin yet extraordinarily durable material effectively shields against wind and rain, and its multiple attachment points allow for various setup methods across different terrains and weather conditions. Note: Unlike the image, these feature nine (9) attachment points, one on each side and one in the center.
Condition: used surplus, with natural color variations, signs of wear from use, and possible repairs.
Multi-functional field protection for all outdoor pursuits
The British Army Basha is suitable for:
- constructing a tarp or shelter
- providing extra coverage from rain and wind for tents
- rapidly setting up as an emergency shelter
- a rain cover for a hammock
- ground tarp or gear protection
- carrying an injured individual (by tying up the corners, creating a makeshift stretcher)
Reinforced corners and grommets combined with webbing loops make attachment quick and reliable, even in challenging conditions.
Field-tested durability
This is an authentic piece of equipment used by the British Army, designed for tough use and variable weather conditions. Even used units are structurally sound, inspected, and fully functional.
